NIADA 2005: Philadelphia

Thursday, July 7th ~ Sunday, July 10th, 2005 The conference began for most with a breakfast mixer. Then the artists retired to a room to hold their annual business meeting, which we interrupted to watch Lynn Johnston’s program. It was a great insight into how one person collects (or acquires) dolls. She used her dolls as a diary to remember important events, including various trips and milestones in her life. It was a surprise to see so many Robert McKinley dolls, and I was gratified to know they were being cared for by someone with a great appreciation and love for Bob. Then back to the artists’ meeting for lots of news and discussions. We have a lot of changes and improvements in our future. Continue reading
