Mary Ellen Frank’s dollmaking & curates Alaska doll museum

Doll maker Mary Ellen Frank works in her Franklin St. studio. The space is also home to Aunt Claudia's Dolls, a doll museum that Frank curates. The museum is open to the public with a reception during each First Friday of the month.

I changed the entrance door to the relatively new museum I helped organize & now curate, Aunt Claudia’s Dolls.  Good idea.  In walks a great freelance writer, Geoff Kirsch, with a keen interest in people and their undertakings.  He meandered about, talking to me while his daughter got her hair trimmed, wrote the story up for the local rag.  I just about fell over when I saw the photo!  It took up half the page in the Sunday paper.  Never saw such a large photo in that paper.  Follow this link to the story in my local paper, the Juneau Empire.
