NIADA artist, Ronnie Burkett, profoundly missed by his NIADA pals and fans during
the several years his World-Class-Puppetmaster career has kept him too busy to
make it to our conferences, was found to be alive and well and in top form when fellow artists
Shelley Thornton and Heather Maciak and NIADA patrons Lynne and Gene Olson journeyed
to Vancouver, British Columbia on December 8th, 2011 to see Ronnie’s new
theatrical extravaganza, “Penny Plain”, a dark yet humorous tale of the end of mankind.
Ronnie just keeps getting better and better. He seemed happy to catch up on news of the
NIADA family over dinner after the second night’s performance. (Yeah, we liked it so much, we got
tickets for the next night and went again…) Still lovin’ that guy’s huge talent! ~ Shelley Thornton
