Doll & Teddy Bear Artists and Collectors Convention
NIADA Patrons Susan and Terry Quinlan have created a very special event for Doll & Teddy bear artists and Collectors in Philadelphia. May 12th -14th at the Ramada Airport Hotel in Philadelphia, PA.
The convention has three purposes: (1) to recognize the contribution of Helen Bullard (NIADA founder) to the artist doll world and the contribution of Beverly Matteson Port to the artist teddy bear world, (2) to express appreciation to the artists and collectors for their contribution to the doll and teddy bear world, and (3) to stimulate interest in dolls and teddy bears among today’s younger generation. This event turns back the clock to those days when things were affordable and really fun to attend
NIADA artists Floyd Bell, Stephanie Blythe, Lesley Keeble, Diane Keeler, Deborah Pope, Donna May Robinson, Annie Wahl and Nancy Wiley will be showing their work and presenting demonstrations and seminars.

The Art exhibition “Kunst in der Zwicky” took place May 28th~June 6th, 2010, in a former factory hall that our community government had transformed into a cultural center. Artists living or working in Fällanden, Switzerland (to which Benglen belongs to) were invited to participate. 34 artists profited of the possibility to show their paintings or sculpture. Only art, no craft was accepted for the exhibit. To avoid the possible rejection of my dolls, I submitted them not as dolls, but as “multi media figures”. Once they were professionally presented, nobody opposed. The artwork was well received by the audience. Continue reading
